Emergency Assistance Fund

The SELA Emergency Relief Fund offers critical support to individual SELA members and libraries across the Southeast who are facing significant emergencies and severe financial hardship. Whether caused by natural disasters, unexpected crises, or other urgent situations, this fund is here to help our community recover and rebuild.

If you or your library have been affected, we encourage you to apply for assistance. Please complete the linked form and include photographs and/or documentation of any damage, if available.

Please upload three supporting pictures. Size limit 2mb per picture.

The SELA Emergency Assistance Fund is available to:

  • Southeastern libraries that have experienced a significant emergency impacting their ability to serve their community.
  • Individual SELA members who have maintained active membership for at least one year, facing dire financial hardship due to an emergency.

Ineligible applicants:

  • Libraries outside the Southeastern region.
  • Incomplete, or ineligible applications (these will not be reviewed).

Requirements

Recipients (libraries or individuals) must:

  • Fill out the application form completely.
  • Include uploaded photographs of damages in the application form, if applicable.
  • Submit a comprehensive final report to SELA within one year of receiving funds, detailing project outcomes and fund usage.
  • Include copies of all receipts with the final report.

Review and Selection Process

  • Applications will be reviewed by the SELA Executive Committee.
  • Award amounts are determined based on available funding.
