Roundtables

Government Documents Round Table

The activities of the Government Documents Round Table includes furthering the interaction and cooperation between documents librarians and others interested in government documents within the region by providing a forum for discussion of problems and concerns. Also, the Government Documents Round Table initiates and supports programs that increase availability, use, and bibliographic control of documents. Finally, the Government Documents Round Table works to extend and improve education and training of documents librarians.

Library Instruction Round Table

The Library Instruction Round Table works at improving the quality of library use instruction in all types of libraries in order to promote more effective use of library resources.

New Members Round Table

The New Members Round Table is interested in helping young and new members orient themselves to their profession and to encourage them to participation in the SELA Association.

Online Search Librarians Round Table

The Online Search Librarians Round Table promotes the highest possible quality of planning, managing, teaching or conducting online search services within the region served by the Southeastern Library Association.

Paraprofessional Roundtable

An arena to address a variety of issues concerning library assistants/support staff/paralibrarians. This roundtable promotes communication and participation, including but not limited to mentoring, conference programming, continuing education workshops, professional growth relevant for all library workers, in addition to supporting the objectives of SELA.   Membership is open to members of SELA who are employed in or who have an interest in library assistants/support staff/paralibrarians development and activities.

Preservation Round Table

The Preservation Round Table facilitates the discussion and dissemination of preservation information among SELA members by sponsoring programs and workshops that benefit the entire membership. They provide a channel through which knowledge can be shared on the topics of book repair, care and handling techniques of library materials, disaster planning, commercial binding, microfilming, staff and user education, environmental monitoring, and related issue.
